I woke up. There was a silence that I learned to love. I listen. It is. I listen. Everywhere. Making no-sense. Not needing to make sense. Disappearing with it. The breath is observed. Breathing observes. Somehow the silence is an orchestra. Somehow the beloved purrs silently in the background. I made a choice today. There are always simple choices to be made. I now rest in a simple pool of choicelessness. I hear the gong, in the distance, in the monastery. And again. Earlier I watched the children play on the giant prayer wheel like it was a merry go round. They were so blissful, so free, so playful. Again, I hear the gong. Such a beautiful silence. Again, I hear the gong. There is a softness to its noise. There is a gentleness in its intent. On and on it goes, in the night. Its silent whisper says, “wake up ~ it’s time to sleep, it’s time to dream”. Samsara and Nirvana are one and the same.
