There is a very common spiritual illness whereupon you sacrifice authenticity for the image of what you think is spiritual. Around Osho it commonly looked like growing a beard and somewhat imitating the style of speech of the guru. In Advaita circles it has taken the form of regurgitating spiritual platitudes of an existential nature. In other circles it takes the form of self-referencing yourself as not existing and speaking or acting as though no one is there.
I met an extreme case recently where I can actually accurately predict in detail everything that will be spoken before we meet.
It is literally like meeting a parrot that just repeats the same thing all the time. He will meet me on the street and in a cafe and right away repeat the same thing that he says every time we meet.
There is no solution for such illness. I would love to say something funny or quirky about it in some manner or another. But honestly there is no solution. Samsar has her ways and hovering points. And sincerity of heart always prevails consciously.
