So my definition of being real is this. To live authentically in a conscious non-mechanical fashion. To first see and then shed the skin of conditioned reality. Society goes on conditioning us through multitude of form from an early age. Our parents introduce us to various types of role modeling, social modeling and cultural conditioning takes its roots in one form or another based on our inner karmic imprint.
Being more real involves a degree of self-awareness that initially becomes deeply self-aware and begins a reuniting with ones essential self. In this transition, the cloak of false buffers of personality is gradually seen, questioned and dissolved through sincere self-awareness and sincere egoless awakening.
