Green Smoothies make us healthy because they are full of healthy ingredients that energize, feed, nurture and heal the body. A green smoothie is an excellent and healthy way to stay healthy, fed, energized and filled with vital nutrients and essential energy.
So to make a healthy green smoothie basically you want to put 50% Greens and 50% Fruits, until you get used to the taste and then shift to 60% Greens and 40% Fruits.
Greens can include: Spinach, Kale, Swiss Chard, Iceberg Lettuce, Romaine, Cilantro, Avocado, Cucumber, Celery, Parsley, Wheat Grass, Beet Greens, etc.
All these greens are super healthy and nurturing for the body. A half or whole Avocado makes it all super creamy and yummy. Cucumber freshens things up. As you go along you will get a sense of what tastes good and which tastes you enjoy the most.
Fruits can include: Banana (nice smooth sweetener), Apple, Berries of any type, Mango, Pear, Kiwi, Strawberries, Blue Berries, Raspberries, Peaches, Grapes, Dried Dates (quite sweetening), Coconut Water, Coconut, etc.
Naturally they say you need a great blender but I have found most blenders work fine. I generally add one banana for one person as they make it quite sweet, as do Dates.
So Basically green smoothies are super healthy in mostly every way that matters.
Also you can add soaked almonds, almond butter and even almond milk.
If you have a green smoothie even just once a day or a few times a week, your health will greatly be great.
There are other things you can add that can greatly improve ones health called “Super Foods”, such as:
Bee Pollen, Chia Seeds, Chaga Mushroom Powder***, Reishi Mushroom Powder***, Cordycept Mushroom Powder, Mitake Mushroom Powder, Lions Mane Mushroom Powder, Cacao (Raw Chocolate Powder), Maca Powder***, Camu Camu Powder, Hemp Hearts, Mixed Medicinal Mushroom Mixes.
All of the above mentioned super foods are full of amazing nutrients and regenerative properties. To learn more about each individually and their amazing properties look them up online. Some of them have great taste too.
Also I tend to love adding a big chunk of ginger to taste. I also often add a small piece of garlic and it tastes great too and is super healthy. When blending all the ingredients you just add water so that it all just turns to a nice thick liquid green smoothie.
There are amazing recipes on the internet for great tasting green smoothies and also great books with recipes and much more information (Green Smoothie Revolution).
Remember that having green smoothies as part of a healthy lifestyle is not a quick fix or diet program but rather just part of healthy conscious living and lifestyle. It will help you to feel healthy and full of joy and energy.
So here is a typical green smoothie that I would make for myself in the morning for just me.
1 or 2 Swiss Chard Leaf
1 Celery Stick
Small Handfull of Cilantro
Half a ripe Avocado
1/4 of an English Cucumber
Slice of fresh Ginger
I would put all this in a blender and add some water and blend it until it is a smoothie.
This would be tasty and healthy enough as it is, but I would probably then add a teaspoon of mushroom powder for the heath regenerative properties and some Chia Seeds for the Omega 3 fatty acids and Camu Camu for the vitamin C and Maca powder for the reproductive health and vitality.
Remember, healthy living is not about having a quick fix diet solution. Heath comes from sustained healthy lifestyle, positive emotional awareness and creative conscious love. Enjoy.
